Chest Workout: Pushups for the Complete Beginner

scoobysworkshop.com In my opinion, pushups are the #1 best exercise you can do! They are simple to do and are a great upper body workout for the complete beginner or the advanced bodybuilder. You can get a complete upper body workout by combining these pushups with crunches and pullups, all of which can be done easily at home. Start by doing knee pushups. If you can do more than 20 of these then they are too easy for you and you should do full pushups. We want to start slowly to avoid injury, the first two weeks you will only do this workout once a week: do as many pushups as you can without rest (a set) rest 2 minutes repeat two more times (three sets total) If your joints and muscles feel ok, you can slowly increase the frequency and duration of your pushup workouts until you are doing pushups 3x/week for 20minutes. When you get to the point where you can do more than 20 pushups in all your sets, then its time to move on to a more advanced workout. Please see my website for some suggestions. The reason many people dont get started in bodybuilding is that it seems to complex and intimidating, thats why I recommend starting out with just pushups and with daily walking (10-30min). Its an easy program, you start feeling better immediately, and your brain starts to associate exercising with feeling good. A recent study showed that as little as 10min of exercise a day can do wonders for you mind and body. Once you brain has made the connection between exercise and feeling

I am using your push up method and I did notice the soreness on my shoulders and arms instead of my chest. I am interested in working on my chest, do you have vids on chest??? thanks and God Bless

    Hey Scoob,
what do you think about Bo’s and toe’s?

Hi scoob great videos mate. Should my arms be shaking when i do pushups? After just 2 or 3 they shake quite a bit and the muscles seem to get tired really quickly.

jerkily…….haha. did he just make that word up? Seriously though, he seems like a really nice guy and the vid is pretty good. I am terrible at doing pushups and from doing puchups from the knee for about a month I can now do 10 pushups, which is good for me.

Maybe you have a small frame so you’re not lifting very much weight. So if you weigh like 120 pounds. between your chest, triceps and shoulders you’re not lifting that much. I don’t know maybe wear a backpack with some weights in it if its too easy.

yea its actually a bit strange seeing a big bulky guy who looks as if he could be the heavy weight champ but seems really gentle…

im no expert at all, not even close, im only 15, but ive heard tons of stuff about lifting everyday against lifting every other day, ive researched a ton, and i think ive got a good answer. If your body can handle going 2-3-4 days in a row, go for it, if your body is too sore, rest a day. but hey im not saying thats right, i could be wrong, but my cousin lifts everyday and it worked for him, hes very very strong
